A Chicago woman has been charged with murder after police said she poured bleach down her boyfriend's throat.
Yasmine Elder, 24, faces a first-degree murder charge after what she described to police as a fight with 26-year-old Darrius Ellis.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Elder and Ellis were sitting inside a parked van on Chicago's South Bishop Street at about 1:45 a.m. Monday when they got into an argument. Elder "overpowered" Ellis and forced him to drink bleach, according to the newspaper.
WGN reported that investigators believe Elder "forced [Ellis] on to his back and then poured bleach down his throat." His body was found in the street by police.
Ellis died from ingesting bleach, a medical examiner told the Associated Press.
The Tribune reported that Ellis had a 5-year-old son.
