British Prime Minister Theresa May condemned President Donald Trump after Trump retweeted several anti-Muslim videos posted by a British far-right group leader.

Now officials from a London borough say Trump is not welcome there following the tweets.

Greenwich councilors adopted a motion Thursday that bans Trump from the borough, according to The Hill. The council asked the government to withdraw its state visit invitation to Trump, but the motion does not have legal weight, according to USA Today

The motion included that the leaders had "alarm at the decision of President Trump to retweet Islamophobic Propaganda" and "sadness at the President's bigoted attitude towards women and ethnic minorities," according to The Hill.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders defended Trump's retweets.

"What he's done is elevate the conversation to talk about a real issue and a real threat," she said.

Sanders said Trump probably did not know the tweets came from the far-right group, according to CNN
