The storm has begun a move to the north at 2 mph and a Tropical Storm Watch for the Gulf Coast has now been upgraded to a Tropical Storm Warning.

Hurricane Hunters did not find tropical storm force winds yet, however the storm is moving over warm water and light shear and is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm and possibly close to hurricane strength.

Landfall is expected on Thursday afternoon in the Big Bend or eastern panhandle of Florida.

Rainfall totals look to be pretty impressive along the west coast of Florida with much lower totals in our area.

We will have the potential for more heavy rainfall moving south to north throughout the night, then SSW to NNE Wednesday afternoon.

Additional rainfall totals of 1-3 inches are possible with higher totals in isolated locations.

As Tropical Depression No. 9 moves through North Florida on Thursday, a lot of moisture hangs around and our rain chances stay high, even though the sun will come back out.

As hurricane season continues to ramp up now is a good time to go over your hurricane preparedness plan .
