In a heated interview with Don Lemon on CNN Sunday night, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke claimed he predicted the recent shootings of police officers as long as two years ago.

"I predicted this two years ago...I've been watching this for two years," Clarke said.

"This anti-cop sentiment from this hateful ideology called Black Lives Matter has fueled this rage against the American police officer," he added.

Things between Lemon and Clarke got tense when the sheriff began quizzing the anchor on whether or not anyone had protested the recent killings of officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge.

"Sheriff, please, let's just keep the volume down here," Lemon pleaded of Clarke. "We can keep it civil."

"I wish you had that message of civility toward this hateful ideology," Clarke countered.

As the two continued talking over each other, Lemon made the abrupt decision to go to break.

"We'll be right back, we're going to go to break," Lemon said. "Are you going to let me talk?"

Clarke is scheduled to speak Monday night at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
