Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been given a lot of social media attention since a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday where she said it was "super easy" for lawmakers to be "pretty bad."

During her line of questioning of witnesses who are considered experts in government oversight, Ocasio-Cortez asked questions in which she called a "lightning round." Ocasio-Cortez implied in her questioning, with the help of the witnesses' answers, that a lawmaker could have their campaign funded by special interests, make decisions affecting those special interests and make money in the process.

Ocasio-Cortez had help from a panel made up from groups such as the Institute for Free Speech, the Common Cause and the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

"I want to get away with as much bad things as possible, ideally to enrich myself and advance my interests, even if that means putting my interests ahead of the American people,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I have enlisted all of you as my co-conspirators, and you’re going to help me legally get away with all of this.”

After her line of questioning, she then took a swipe at President Donald Trump, although she did not mention him by name.

“It’s already super legal, as we’ve seen, for me to be a pretty bad guy. So it’s even easier for the president of the United States to be one," she said.

The clip of her questioning on one Facebook page alone has had 10 million views in less than 24 hours.
