A Brighton Township, Michigan teen who was once charged with 20 sexual assaults was sentenced to 45 days in a youth facility after reaching a plea deal.

The 16-year-old was sentenced last week after emotional victim impact statements from three teen girls and their parents, according to the Livingston Daily.

The Livingston Daily also reports that the teen will spend 45 days in a youth facility in Monroe before returning home for "intensive probation services."

According to the Livingston Daily, the three girls and their parents were disappointed and shocked at the sentenced.

An assistant prosecutor said the attacks began in February 2016 when the boy "sexually assaulted (a 12-year-old girl) behind a movie theatre," according ot the Livingston Daily.

The Livingston Daily reports that the teen then assaulted two other girls, one age 12 and the other age 13, using the same tactics, according to assistant prosecutor Marilyn Bradford.

At one point, the assistant prosecutor said he apologized to one of the victim's at her home and then raped her again, according to the Livingston Daily.

In the plea deal, the 16-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of accosting a minor for immoral purposes and four counts of possession of child sexually explicit material. He will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
