Police have shot a suspect who allegedly stabbed six people and pistol-whipped another in a mental health facility outside of Pittsburgh on Friday.

Those injured in the incident were transported to area hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.

According to KDKA-TV, police shot 38-year-old Dustin Johnson “several times” after being called to the Turtle Creek Valley Mental Health Facility for reports of a stabbing and sexual assault.

Johnson was reportedly carrying a long knife and a handgun. The handgun turned out to be a BB gun.

Johnson has been rushed to the hospital, where he is expected to undergo surgery.

KDKA reports the incident began because the suspect was angry that his treatment would no longer be covered by insurance.
