FRESNO, Calif. — A California man died not long after taking part in a taco eating contest at a Minor League Baseball game Tuesday.

Dana Hutchings, 41, died shortly after arriving at a hospital following the contest at a Fresno Grizzlies game Tuesday, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

KFSN reported Hutchings was taken from Chukchansi Park by an ambulance just after the start of the game. KFSN says the team did not release any more information.

Saturday, Fresno will host the World Taco Eating Championship at the annual Taco Truck Throwdown. The two events are not related, though.

The Coroners Office has not released the cause of Hutchings' death, KFSN reported.
