One person is dead after a shooting occurred between a task force and a person who displayed a handgun in Minneapolis' Uptown neighborhood, the U.S. Marshals said.

In a statement to the Associated Press, the U.S. Marshall's said the shooting occurred Thursday around 2 p.m.

WATCH RECAP:

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension tweeted that their agents were en route to the shooting scene.

ATF's St. Paul Field Division tweeted that they, too, were responding to the scene "in a support capacity to assist investigating agencies."

The AP reported that members of a task force were attempting to arrest a person who was wanted on a state warrant for being a felon in possession of a firearm when the person produced a firearm.

Members of the task force fired and then attempted life-saving measures, but the person died at the scene.

According to KSTP, a woman who was in the car at the time of the shooting was treated for minor injuries.

The age or gender of the person who died was not indicated in a statement, nor what agencies were involved in the task force, the AP reported.

The Minneapolis Police Department told the AP that they were not involved.
