Florida killings: Tampa mayor tells police to hunt down killer and 'bring his head to me'

Bob Buckhorn, the mayor of Tampa, Florida, says police will continue to patrol a local neighborhood that has seen three killings that authorities say are linked.

During a roll call meeting on Wednesday, Buckhorn and Interim Police Chief Brian Dugan gave officers a pep talk before they started their shifts.

Mayor Buckhorn told police "you guys go and hunt him down, and bring his head to me. Alright? Let's go get it done!"

The Dugam also said he will personally be on patrol in the Seminole Heights neighborhood on Halloween night, to make sure families who choose to Trick-or-Treat, feel safe. 

 

 

 

Meanwhile, officials continue to ask the community to share a surveillance video showing a "person of interest" walking in the area of the first murder more than two weeks ago. 

The three victims Benjamin MitchellMonica Caridad Hoffa and Anthony Taino Naiboa were all shot within 10 blocks of each other in Seminole Heights within the span of 10 days. Police suspect the victims were chosen at random, though all three were alone at the time of the murders.

“I’ve never seen anything like this, really to tell you the truth, there’s no rhyme or reason,” Sgt. Robert Fannin with the Tampa Police Department said.
