Threats can come in many shapes and forms.

But how about in the form of a Voodoo doll?

Officers in Tybee Island, Georgia, are looking for answers after they found a beheaded Voodoo doll on the ground outside their police station – beside it a disfigured lizard carcass.

The doll was found around 6 a.m. Friday, according to The Huffington Post. The police department posted a picture of the bizarre finding to Facebook, writing, “Despite the overwhelming support that we receive on a daily basis, there is the occasional reminder that not everyone likes the police."

Surveillance footage shows an unidentified man placing the items on the ground, Tybee Island Police Chief Bob Bryson told the Savannah Morning News.

While the perpetrator would likely only face litter charges if identified, police are also interested in learning the motive behind the stunt.

“I definitely think there is a pretty dark message involved that somebody is trying to direct at the police department,” Lt. Emory Randolph, who found the doll, told WJCL-TV. “To have the head pulled off the doll, it’s obviously not a sign of a friendly gesture.”
