Yavapai County Sheriff's officials say a man and his young son are safe after a scary ordeal involving rushing water Wednesday morning.

Crews responded to the scene near Black Canyon City where the man had gotten stuck in the rising flood waters.

Swift water rescue teams were able to quickly get the man and child out of the vehicle and to safety on dry land.

Heavy rain has caused several water rescue incidents this week, including another man who had to climb on top of his vehicle to escape the water near Anthem.

More than one inch of rain fell in some parts of the Valley and more could be on the way thanks to El Ninostorms moving through the state.

According to information on scene in Black Canyon City, the man's vehicle is set to remain in the flooded area until water levels go down.
