A new ride-sharing program has made its way to Tucson.
The city is partnering with Zipcar, a car-sharing program that offers an "on-demand" alternative to drivers in downtown Tucson.
The company says Zipcar is a cheaper, hassle-free alternative to owning or renting a car.
The location of the vehicles is near hotels, apartments, student-housing and employment centers.
Standard hourly rates are $7.50/hr. 180 miles are included per day ($.45 per mile after that).
Every reservation comes with gas, insurance, maintenance and a parking spot. Plus, each Zipcar takes up to 13 personally owned cars off the road, leading to a cleaner, greener city, City of Tucson PIO Michael Graham said.
Access to Zipcar vehicles is available starting now, 24/7, with rental by the hour or the day, using the mobile application.
