TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - History came alive today at Tortolita Middle School as 8th graders were given the opportunity to listen to a veteran of World War II.
Wynn Freedman is a 91-year-old Army Veteran of WWII. He told students about some of his close calls during the war and the kids took it all in.
"I thought he was telling us to make sure to get your priorities straight. Before you take care of yourself make sure you can take care of others and then think of yourself and not to be greedy," said student Hunter Holt.
Teachers say the firsthand accounts and original artifacts help students get a grasp of what really happened during World War II.
