TUCSON, Ariz. — A big piece of history rolled through Tucson Thursday morning.

Big Boy No. 4014 is the world's largest steam locomotive, weighing in at 1.2 million pounds. It passed through Marana and made a stop in Tucson Thursday as part of Union Pacific's "Great Race Across the Southwest."

The event celebrates the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad's completion. Train lovers of all ages came to the Train Depot to see Big Boy up close.

"We rode certain trains, and we're so glad to see this one come back to life," retired train conductor Paul Porter said.

The train will stay at the Train Depot through Friday.
