TUCSON, Ariz. — The World Axe Throwing Championship is coming to the Old Pueblo this winter.
Splitting Timber Axe Range announced it will hold the competition at its Marana location at the Tucson Premium Outlets on Dec. 8. The competition will be broadcast internationally on ESPN 2 and will feature 64 competitors from all over the world.
The grand prize is $5,000, a trophy and the title of 2019 World Axe Throwing Champion, Splitting Timber said in a press release.
Splitting Timber is locally owned by a mother-daughter team. They also have a location in Phoenix.
