A woman was killed Saturday night after a vehicle hit her while she was attempting to cross State Route 92.
According to Sierra Vista Police, 46-year-old Lourdes Flores and another man were crossing an unmarked and dimly lit section of the highway south of Snyder Blvd. at 8:30 p.m. Both individuals were hit by a vehicle traveling southbound.
Witnesses stayed on the scene and provided life-saving measures to Flores. She was pronounced dead after authorities arrived on the scene and also performed life-saving measures.
The man with her had serious injuries and was transported to a Tucson hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. The findings of an SVPD investigator do not indicate a criminal component to the incident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved.
This investigation is continuing.
