SIERRA VISTA (KGUN9-TV) - A woman is suffering from injuries after four dogs got out of a fenced yard and attacked her Tuesday morning while she was walking to a nearby park.

Authorities say the woman attacked was going to Len Roberts Park near Carmichael School in the 300 block of North First Street in Sierra Vista shortly after 9:30 a.m. this morning.

Cochise County Sheriff's Department said the woman was bit over 12 times in the attack.  Public Information Officer, Carol Capas, said the woman does not want to press charges, but Animal Control will be issuing citations.

Capas said a neighbor heard the woman screaming and came out with a golf club to defend her.  The dogs ran back to a residence and into the fenced yard before animal control officers were able to apprehend them.

Sierra Vista Animal Control Officers picked up the four dogs and took them to Huachuca City Animal Shelter. Capas said Animal Control is working to make sure the dogs have their vaccinations.

Authorities say the owner of the dogs, who lives in the same neighborhood of the woman attacked, has been identified.

Capas said the dogs are of various mixed breeds.  Three of the dogs are possibly of corgi pit mix and the fourth is a lab mix, she said.

We have a crew headed to the scene, stay with us for updates.
