A 25-year-old woman was apprehended by Customs and Border Protection officers while trying to smuggle 48 pounds of meth across the border with four children in the car Monday morning.
CBP officials say a narcotics-detection canine alerted officers to $144,000 worth of packages of drugs in the car's rocker panels.
The woman was arrested for narcotics smuggling and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
CBP officers took the drugs and car, and the children were turned over to a family member.
