TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Police Officer Erik Hite gave his all, including his life, serving the community. Today his wife received a grant for their foundation.
Erik was shot and killed while in pursuit of a gunman in June of 2008.
Shortly after his death, his wife, Nohemy Hite, started the Erik Hite Foundation to provide child care and outreach programs for families and children of first responders.
Today Hite recieved a $15,000 donation from the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
Chris Kyle is known as the ‘American Sniper’.
The Erik Hite foundation helps over 150 families with just one center open. A second center is currently in the works.
