Rain and snow fall throughout the day

Unseasonably wet weather sweet across Pima County on Thursday afternoon. Several washes around town were overflowing with water as heavy rain poured down.

The Santa Cruz River was running swiftly throughout the day. Another residential wash in Midtown left two people and a dog stranded inside their car. Tucson fire crews headed out to the scene as the water continued to rise around the vehicle. Firefighters were able to individually escort the women and their dog out to safety.

More driving trouble took place near Broadway and 5th avenue. Drivers were forced to slow down as they maneuvered through rising water on the roadways.

Over on the east side, some people weathered the storm, while traffic got backed up for other drivers on the roads.
With all that rain in Tucson, Mt. Lemmon saw a flurry of snow.

Near the Biosphere, inches of snow fell down that blanketed the landscape around the mountain.  Trees and cacti were completely covered in fresh powder. Oro Valley also saw some snow. One viewer sent us a video of their backyard as flurries of snow tumbled to the ground.
