TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine will bear the name of Dr. Andrew Weil in exchange for a $15 million commitment to the center that the best-selling author and pioneer of non-traditional medicine founded two decades ago.

A university statement announcing Weil's $15 million commitment Tuesday says it raises Weil's total giving to $20 million and also establishes several endowed academic and research positions and ensures that the university "the world's nexus of integrative medicine education, research and innovation."

Weil said in the statement that the gift marks the high point of his career at the university where the center has promoted practices such as good nutrition, healthy lifestyle, natural therapies, spirituality and "mind-body interventions."
