Water valve damage causes breakage near Foothills

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A water valve that feeds into Murphy Reservoir was damaged May 6 in the morning, according to Tucson Water.

Tucson Water says they believe a contractor damaged one of the valves near Sabino Canyon and Kolb Roads, which caused commuters to see water springing up earlier in the day.

Tucson Water has re-routed water delivery into the area and turned of the water line valve, but are having problems shutting the pipeline down. This is affecting more customers than previously thought, those in Sabino Canyon and Kolb can experience low to no water pressure until the issue is resolved.
