WATCH: Border Patrol Agents save drowning migrant

Man tried to swim back into Mexico through a canal

TUCSON, Ariz. — Border Patrol Agents rescued a drowning man near Calexico Monday night.

According to Customs and Border Protection, agents saw three migrants come into the country illegally, near the Calexico Port of Entry.

The agents captured one individual, however, the two others tried to swim back into Mexico through a canal.

A 19-year-old Mexican man started to have trouble treading water.

When agents noticed he was in danger and panicking, they took off their armor, swam into the canal and saved him.

He had his body temperatures stabilized and was checked over for any health issues.

Agents transported the two captured men and had them processed for illegal entry.

The third individual swam back to the other side of the border.
