TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) A balloon release and candlelight vigil was held for a 3-year-old boy who died after getting hit by a car last year.
In May 2016 Denver Greenberg was riding a scooter with his dad and brother when he was struck by a Chevy pickup truck that was turning the corner.
It happened near the corner of Banbridge Street and Castle Bay. Some family members and friends met at the intersection to remember his life.
Denver's mother, Shiloe Martin, was at the vigil and wanted to remind parents to keep their kids close and cherish every moment.
"Denver was awesome," Martin said. "He was our superhero. He loved everything superhero. And he was just a beautiful, beautiful soul."
In the days following the accident Tucson Police said speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident. No citations were issued.
