Veterans in Tucson were treated to a Thanksgiving meal on Thursday.
Various businesses across the city donated warm Thanksgiving meals to Veterans on Patrol, a statewide search and rescue which goes around looking for homeless veterans.
The veterans get to stay at a base camp near Santa Rita Park where they are transitioned back into housing and a normal way of life.
This Thanksgiving nearly 20 turkeys were donated to the Bravo base camp.
"It's crucial that the community helps out," Martin Marszalek told KGUN9. "We do not accept any kind of cash contributions or are we backed by any government agencies. This is a self-sacrificing organization so we're completely relying on the community to come together for food donations, canned goods, hygiene goods, clothing, furniture so that we could put it back into the community," said Marszalek, who works as the Chief Medical Officer.
There are four base camps across the state including in Mesa and Phoenix.
