According to a news release from Tucson Police, a DUI investigation is underway in connection with the crash at the Davis-Monthan gate, Monday morning.

The Public Affairs office for the 355th Wing, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, shared more information on the Craycroft Gate breach through a news release.
According to the release, the civilian attempting to breach the gate was stopped by activated barriers.
After the driver was detained, the vehicle caught fire. Firefighters from D-M Fire Department extinguished the blaze, the news release said.
The driver was transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
The incident is under investigation.

Davis-Monthan security forces are working with local law enforcement to investigate why a civilian-operated vehicle breached the Craycroft Gate at the base on Monday morning.
