Actress Vanessa Hudgens has agreed to pay $1,000 for carving into the red rock in Sedona around Valentine's Day.

Hudgens posted a photo of the carving with a heart and the names "Vanessa" and "Austin" inside it on her Instagram page.

According to a statement of probable cause, Hudgens admitted to damaging the red rock and provided information to pinpoint the location.

Volunteers and U.S. Forest Service employees found the carving around Feb. 23 on a geologic formation known as Bell Rock. The area is popular with tourists.

The $1,000 in restitution resolves a misdemeanor citation against Hudgens. A volunteer group called Friends of the Forest will use the money to restore the rock wall.

A publicist for Hudgens did not immediately respond to a message left Friday.
