TUCSON, Ariz. — This week is expected to be the busiest mailing week of the year.

Each night hundreds of employees sort an avalanche of mail using automated equipment.
USPS Communications Specialist Rod Spurgeon said "So far were expecting about 800 MILLION packages to go through our facility between thanksgiving and New Years. At this facility we're seeing a 6% increase in volume which is a nice increase over last year."
The US Postal Service expects to deliver about 800 million packages during the holiday season.
