USCIS welcomes 15 new U.S citizens in special ceremony

U.S Citizenship and Immigration (USCIS) welcomed 15 people to the United States during a special naturalization ceremony at the Tumacacori National Historical Park Monday.

USCIS Phoenix Section Chief Charles B. Harrell administered the Oath of Allegiance and the Honorable James A. Soto, U.S District Court presided over the ceremony.

The 15 people came from 15 different countries - Austria, Bhutan, Columbia, Congo, Ethiopia, Germany, Haiti, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, United Kingdom and Vietnam.

This special ceremony was in recognition of Constitution Week and Citizenship Day.

USCIS said it will welcome close to 45,000 new U.S citizens at 260 naturalization ceremonies during Constitution week, which is from Sept. 14 to 23.
