TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Today, many gathered to raise funds for the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Park.
It has been five years since the Jan.8 shooting, where six people died and 13 others were injured, including Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
John and Roxanna Green worked to raise funds for the park and they also unveiled some plans that they have for the park.
John Green said "We felt the community wrap their arms around us, on that week, after that month, that year, even today. So we felt it was important for us to find a way to give back to the community and this park is one of the ways we're trying to do that."
Pima County hosted the dedication.
The family hopes to meet an $85,000 fundraising goal. If you would like to donate, click here.
