A University of Arizona golfer was booked into jail on Tuesday on charges of sexual assault.

Police say 20-year-old Andrew Garner and the victim met at a Whole Foods in Phoenix then drove in Garner's car to Mummy Mountain in November 2015.

According to the police report, the sexual assault happened in the backseat of the car.

The report says the victim told police that she repeatedly told Garner "no" and he forced himself on her.

In April, police served a search warrant on the victim and Garner's cell phones to corroborate the claim.

Garner was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office 4th Avenue Jail on July 26.

Arizona Athletics released the following statement about the incident on Wednesday:

"The athletics department was notified earlier today of an issue regarding Andrew Garner. As a result, Andrew has been suspended indefinitely."
