The 8th Annual Melanoma Walk supporting melanoma research takes place Saturday.

The walk begins at 3 p.m. on the UA Mall at 1209 E. University Blvd.

Before the walk, the UA Skin Cancer Institute will offer free screenings and spot checks from 2-4 p.m.

Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children, ages 10 to 14, and free for children under 9 and under.

“Melanoma Walk helps raise awareness of this deadly skin cancer, while giving those touched bymelanoma and their loved ones a chance to come together and walk in support of fighting and curingmelanoma,” said Lisa Quale, health educator at the UA Skin Cancer Institute. “The Walk also raises money to help us continue our work in melanoma research, prevention, education, patient support and community outreach.”
