The University of Arizona can now begin construction on a multimillion-dollar honors college complex.

The Arizona Board of Regents approved the project on Thursday.

University officials say the complex will mostly house first-year honors students and will include dining and recreation areas, academic facilities, and parking.

Tucson City Council members met last month to discuss concerns with the project, including zoning issues.

The UA plans to begin construction in December and is set to open the complex in August 2019.
