TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - December 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombing and the sinking of the USS Arizona.
The University of Arizona Foundation has undertaken a project on campus to memorialize the USS Arizona.
A full-scale outline of the deck of the ship will take harbor on the UA mall. The impressive memorial will honor the hundreds of sailors who perished in 1941.
Project organizers are asking the public for private donations and need around $100,000 to make ship recreation a reality.
