The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a 23-year-old Sierra Vista man Wednesday and added new charges against a man arrested Tuesday for an armed robbery that happened at a hotel on Saturday night.

The hotel is in the 1800 block of E. Wilcox Drive.

Detectives arrested 23-year-old Shaquille Rice around 6:30 a.m. on three counts of kidnapping, two counts of armed robbery, and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He is being held on a $150,000 bond.

A 22-year-old man, Rashawn Avery, was a person of interest in the armed robbery and was arrested Tuesday on charges tied to illegal possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.

He now faces additional charges for the armed robbery. Avery had been fired at multiple times on Sunday in a drive-by shooting that police learned was in retaliation to the robbery.

Avery now faces three counts of kidnapping, two counts of armed robbery, and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He is being held in Cochise County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
