TUCSON, Ariz. — Two people were taken to the hospital after hiking for most of the day.
Rural Metro Fire says it happened 2:30 p.m. today in Sabino Canyon. They say a group of hikers were overcome by the heat.
Along with Rural Metro, the PIma County Sheriff's Department and the Southern Arizona Rescue Association also helped with the rescue.
One hiker already went down the trail before rescuers arrived. They were taken to a nearby hospital.
A second hiker was carried down the trail by rescuers and taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
