Two dead on Tucson's south side after collision

Tucson Police are investigating a hit and run that left two dead near South Park and East Drexel early Saturday morning.

According to Sgt. Pete Dugan with TPD, two vehicles were involved in a crash that left two people dead in one car. The two have been identified as 62-year-old Joanne Berg and 62-year-old David Lowell Berg. The second vehicle was unoccupied when officers arrived on the scene.

Witnesses report that they saw the occupants of the second vehicle, a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta, exit the vehicle, fleeing the scene on foot. The suspects have not been found.

Investigators are still attempting to identify the driver and passenger of the Jetta. They are described as young Hispanic adults. If anyone has any information, call 9-1-1.
