Two dead after motorcycle accident in Marana

Marana Police and Northwest Fire responded to a report of two motorcycles that had crashed on Thornydale Road just before 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to a news release. 

Capt. Brian Keeley of NW Fire says the accident happened on Thornydale just north of Orange Grove. 

The first units that arrived on scene found two motorcycles laying in the roadway. Two men in their 20's were in the roadway and were pronounced dead on scene. 

NW Fire evaluated both men and determined that one man was beyond life-saving measures because of his injuries. 

Crews tried to resuscitate the second man but he succumbed to his injuries and he was declared dead on scene. 

Northbound Thornydale is closed between Orange Grove and Costco Drive as police investigate. NW Fire says it is expected for the road to remain closed for several hours.

Police have identified the victims as 25-year-old Ryan David Rosenberg and 31-year-old Roy Perez. MPD says both resided in Tucson.
