The Tucson Unified School District held a press conference Friday announcing new school grades from the Arizona Department of Education on Friday.

A number of schools within TUSD received higher school grades during the 2017-2018 school year, according to a press release from the district.

There are 81 schools officially measured on the A-F letter grade system.

Of the 81 schools, 20 moved up a full letter grade from last year.

Fifty schools kept the same letter grade and 11 schools moved down a letter grade.

Trujillo also gave special recognition for Drachman Primary Magnet School. He said they moved up from an "F" grade to a "C" school.

The district says last year there were 10 "F" schools but this year that has been cut in half to only five.
