TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Tucson's 8th grader at Morgan Maxwell received a "Citizen's Award" from the Tucson Fire Chief for saving his family from a house fire.
Earlier this month, Alexander Sanchez woke up in the middle of the night to a house fire. He quickly woke up his sister and grandparents, who all were able to escape.
Tucson Fire Capt. Barrett Baker said, "to be able to give him a pat on the back and tell him that we're proud of him, it does give you a good feeling."
Sanchez received a certificate for his bravery as well as a $250 grant that was submitted by a teacher prior to the incident.
