Police have identified 60-year-old Ricky Jay Broschat as the motorcyclist killed in a collision on Sunday.
On June 11, authorities responded to a serious injury single motorcycle collision in the 8200 block of E. Tanque Verde Rd.
When the crew arrived on the scene, they located a man with obvious signs of trauma, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay with Tucson Police. Paramedics treated the man on the scene, but he was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives responded to the scene and learned the rider of a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle was eastbound in the 8200 block of E. Tanque Verde Rd.
Witnesses observed the rider travel in and out of both lanes at a high rate of speed, said Bay.
As the rider moved from the curb lane to the median lane, he struck the raised median. The rider then crossed over the median and crashed into the westbound curb lane.
Broschat was wearing a helmet, but it came off during the collision.
