TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police are investigating a deadly shooting that involved a man in his 20's and security guards at a business complex near Broadway and Craycroft.

Police have identified the person shot as 24-year-old Anthony L. Garrett.

TPD says officers were called to 5210 East Williams Circle just after 6 p.m. Monday after reports of a shooting at nearby building.

Upon arrival officers found Anthony L. Garrett with obvious signs of gunshot wounds in the lobby of building.

Detectives learned the man was looking for his ex-girlfriend when security guards approached him.

TPD says coworkers of the ex-girlfriend told security that the man was looking for the woman because they were aware of recent domestic violence incidents involving the two. Soon after, a fight broke out between the guards and the man. Both the guards and the man then began shooting at each other. The man shot one of the security guards in the boot. The guard is expected to be okay.

Police say Anthony L. Garrett was shot during the altercation. He did die.

According to TPD, there was domestic violence incident prior, detectives investigated that incident and obtained probable cause for Mr. Garrett's arrest on multiple felony charges, but were unable to find him.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to 911 or 88-CRIME.
