UPDATE (1:06 p.m. April 30):
Tucson Police have identified the man who died in the crash on Speedway near Houghton as 69-year-old Thomas Allan Longanecker.
According to a news release from TPD, Longanecker was driving his Toyota Tacoma eastbound on Speedway when he "abruptly veered over the raised center median."
From there, the news release said, he struck a tree and continued into oncoming westbound traffic, striking a Mercedes-Benz.
Longanecker was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tucson Police detectives were notified that he had died shortly after their arrival to the scene.
The investigation as to why Longanecker crossed over the median is ongoing.

A crash near North Houghton and East Speedway has turned fatal, according to the Tucson Police Department.
