Tucson Police are investigating a suspicious death in the 1000 block of East 28th Street on the night of Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018.

Per TPD, a call came in around half past noon concerning a man in his 30s that was not responding to his friend's calls or his front door.

The friend told TPD that they were going to meet the man -- identified as 38-year-old Jermiah Stoneberg -- at his house, but when the friend arrived, there was no answer to the front door or phone calls.

The friend could hear Stoneberg's cell phone ring from the front door, but after seeing no one answer it, the friend knew something was wrong and called Tucson Police.

TPD officers arrived on scene and tried calling the Stoneberg's cell phone. They also got no answer and found blood on the door, so they forced entry into the home.

Inside, the officers discovered Stoneberg deceased and with obvious signs of trauma.

TPD have opened an investigation and canvassed the neighborhood to find out more about what took place.
