Police identify man found dead in southside home, suspect in custody

TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson Police responded to reports about an unresponsive man inside a home on the southside of town May 31.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 58-year-old Blain K. Beckham.

Detectives say the incident happened near 2100 block of South Tucson Avenue near Tucson Avenue and Fairland Stravenue around noon on Friday.

The victim has been identified as 71-year-old Fernando Broyles.

Broyles appeared to have obvious signs of trauma.

Officials say Broyles was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say a neighbor that usually checks up on the man, came to his house today and found the man with signs of trauma.

Police say Beckham was temporarily living in the home at the time.

TPD says detectives were able to determine he was invloved in the murder.

Investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service were able to locate Beckham and take him into custody.

TPD says he is being held in the Pima County Jail.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME.
