TUCSON, Ariz. - Whether you have leftover Halloween candy, candy your kids don't want or you don't want them to eat, a local business is giving you the option to get rid of it and get something in return.

Dr. Jaw Orthodontist has been taking part in the 'candy buy back' program for the past seven years. Dr. Laura Robinson-Rabe said every year the program has gotten more and more popular.

As part of the program, you can bring in any leftover Halloween candy and get one dollar per one pound of candy you have. Dr. Jaw staff do have a cap on the amount of money you can get at five dollars.

The buy-back program is running between November 1 and November 7.

After the buy-back program is finished for the year, Dr. Jaw Orthodontist sends some of the Halloween candy over to Davis-Monthan so they can give it to families.

The rest of the candy goes to Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends the candy to troops.

Staff at Dr. Jaw also encourage kids who come in to sell their candy to designate the school they go to. Once the program is finished staff will determine what school got the most students coming in and will give them a donation.

There are three Dr. Jaw Orthodontist location in southern Arizona, all are participating in the buy back program.
