TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A Tucson man who was paralyzed from the chest down in a motorcycle accident in 2015 is seeking a controversial treatment in India.

9 On Your Side has been following Forrest Falk since before his trip. He is now in New Delhi getting stem cell treatment from Dr. Geeta Shroff at Nutech Mediworld.

He and his fiance, Nicole Henry, will spend two months in India while Forrest is getting treatments.

He got his first round of shots Friday. It was a smaller dosage to make sure his body does not have a negative reaction.

The treatment can take a while to work and some bad reviews of Nutech Mediworld say it is a scam.

However, Nicole and Forrest were convinced when they spoke to former patients of Dr. Shroff who were once wheelchair-bound and were able to walk again after seeing her.

For Forrest, because his accident was only nine months ago, doctors are hopeful his recovery will be even quicker than others who have waited years to seek treatment.

Each round of treatment costs $45,000, plus travel. Forrest and Nicole have started a GoFundMe account to try and raise the money for a chance for Forrest to walk again. If you would like, you can make a donation here
