A convicted felon picked up downtown several weeks ago after he was mistakenly let out of jail was convicted today of multiple felony counts.
Among them: Crimes against children, including sexual conduct with a minor, kidnapping and a drug offense involving minors.
The judge sentenced David Samaniego, Sr., to 57 years in prison.
The convictions were in connection to the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl after a Sun Tran bus ride in 2024.
