First responders rescued a Tucson hiker who suffered a climbing accident in northern Arizona Tuesday.
Coconino Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call from Oak Creek Vista near State Route 89A at 1:15 p.m.
The man, 57, had suffered a back injury after falling 20 feet at the end of his rappel. The search and rescue crew used a technical rope system to lower a rescuer and basket litter to the hiker, lifting him to safety.
The man was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment.
